Luke Bretherton is the Robert E. Cushman Distinguished Research Professor of Moral and Political Theology and senior fellow of the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Before joining the Duke faculty in 2012, he was the reader in Theology & Politics and convener of the Faith & Public Policy Forum at King's College London. His primary areas of research include Christian ethics, political theology, the intellectual and social history of Christian moral and political thought, and the relationship between Christianity and capitalism. Alongside his scholarly work, he writes for the media including The Guardian, The Times, and The Washington Post.
